An official report has been published detailing the efforts of security services in preventing terrorist attacks over the past year.
According to the report:
1. 1,040 significant attacks were thwarted*, including: 689 shooting attacks; 326 explosive device attacks; 13 stabbing attacks; 9 vehicular assaults; 2 suicide bombings; 1 kidnapping.
2. 13 Iranian terrorist and espionage networks were dismantled.
3. 20 Arab terrorist cells were neutralised, 5 of which were planning bombings or car explosions.
4. 32 times over the past year, a joint team of operatives from the SHABAK's special unit and the police's YAMAM unit (known as the „Tequila group“) was mobilised to prevent imminent attacks.
5. Cyberattacks increased fivefold since the beginning of the war compared to previous years. Over the past year, approximately 700 cyberattacks were repelled or prevented through the combined efforts of SHABAK, the IDF, and the National Cyber Directorate.
These are truly remarkable figures. Reflecting on them, we realise how our daily lives are filled with miracles, underscoring the importance of thanking the Almighty, blessed be He.
Clearly, all this is due to the dedication of our security personnel.
As stated in the Psalm of David: „Unless the Lord watches over the city, the guards stand watch in vain“ — everything depends on the Creator's protection.
Our human efforts are undoubtedly necessary; however, it's important to remember that they are merely instruments for receiving the Almighty's blessings.
Therefore, we should strive to „develop this instrument“ through the study of Torah, observance of commandments, prayers, and charitable deeds for the benefit of the people of Israel.
