A trilateral meeting took place in Washington with the participation of the President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, the Prime Minister of Armenia, Nikol Pashinyan, and the US leader, Donald Trump. It was here that Yerevan and Washington signed an agreement which, according to the American side, removes a key obstacle on the path to a peace treaty between the two South Caucasus states. „They fought for 35 years, and now they are friends,“ the US president declared.
As part of the understandings reached:
1. The Zangezur Corridor, located at the junction of borders and near Iran, passes under US control. It will be leased to an American company for 99 years and will receive the name „Trump Route“.
2. Hostilities between the countries cease.
3. The United States will expand co-operation with both countries in the fields of energy, trade and technology.
4. Washington lifts restrictions on military co-operation with Azerbaijan.
The leaders of both countries proposed nominating Donald Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize.
Let us recall that five years ago, when the conflict between Armenia and Azerbaijan flared up, many voiced fears that this conflict could turn into the war of Gog and Magog and that disasters awaited us. But, as we reported then, in accordance with the prophecy of the Rebbe, King Moshiach, only goodness and mercy await us. Today we have all become witnesses to this!
